I have been repeatedly replacing our backyard canopy covers over the last 5 years with the plastic cheap covers. These white covers in the Las Vegas, NV sun at over 100 degrees most all summer never last a full summer before they rip apart. We get strong winds occasionally in addition to the hot sun which whips the canopy and tears holes in it at the junction of the wire tighteners holding the frame tight along the top. Replacing each canopy twice a summer, even when plastic is cheaper, is more than we want to spend. My brain finally caught up to reality and I am now using the canvas canopy covers that last the full summer in the heat and wind intact, and longer on occasion. The extra cost still saves me money in the long run. Smart buyers should be using canvas canopy covers---not plastic.
