This is my second CURT hitch receiver. I'm a car fanatic and have owned many different receivers over the years for various vehicles of mine. I do the installations myself. I installed this one on my wife's 2012 Subaru WRX hatchback with quad exhaust tips (and optional Subaru finishers). Curt receivers have the best powdercoating, in my opinion. Evenly applied and shiny. Welds look like the whole piece feels - stout! The install kit even included the back-pull fish wire! That's attention to detail that I appreciate.

Install notes: do exactly as the directions say with respect to trimming the lowest part of the rear valance. Don't sweat this part of the job, it sounds worse than it is. If you don't cut to the size they say (i.e. cut less thinking you're being conservative), then upon final assembly, your lower valance will deform into a not-horrible-looking-but-not-stock bowtie shape (and after all, this isn't a Chevy we're talking about). Then you'll have to take it all apart after wrestling with it for so long to redo that particular cut. Just go for it as described.

As another said, remove the muffler assembly rather than just removing the rubber hangers as the directions suggest. It's actually easier to do this and you'll have all kinds of room to work. Just two 14mm nuts plus some WD40 on the 4 rubber hangers. The rubber hangers can then be easily popped off using just your hands once the rods over which they slide are lubed. Easy peasy.

Will only buy CURT hitches after my last two. Heck, maybe I'll put one my BRZ next ;)
