Got a couple of these to hold a touring kayak and a tandem.

Pros:
- After a little assembly, they mount and dismount very quickly without tools to the stock roof rack on an '03 Yukon (takes about 30 seconds to put each one on).
- Solid build. Holds the kayaks very securely at highway speeds. Heavy duty straps and bow and stern tiedowns included
- With an Easky 15 and a Pamlico 145T, highway mileage only dropped about 0.5mpg

Cons:
- Very easy to dismount/remove, and there are no manufacturer locking options to lock it to the roof rack. Fortunately they can be removed quickly when not in use in questionable locales (or you could try using a cable lock of your own).
- Unlike some other designs, these don't fold down
- Be aware of your kayak's weight and the vehicle's roof height to have an idea of whether you can load a kayak on one of these solo. Some other designs may be easier to load solo.
