Product Description

HID lights have a glass chamber of gas that replaces the filament of traditional halogen light bulbs. The gas is ignited with an approximately 23,000 volt charge and stays illuminated by a constant 12v source that is provided by a ballast which is connected directly to your battery. Remarkably, HID lights are able to provide greater light output with much less power consumption. Studies show that a 35 watt HID lamp produces 3 times as much light compared to a 55 watt halogen bulb. Moreover, the 55 watt halogen bulb uses a continuous power draw of 10-15 amps, while the HID system uses 20 amps for starting up, but then drops down to a mere 3 amps during operation (that is up to 80% less power during use!). In addition to high output and low power usage, the HID headlight provides longer service life. With no filament to vibrate and fatigue, under normal driving conditions, HID bulbs last roughly 10 times longer than halogen bulbs.

I'm updating my original review. I was not aware this kit is not needed previous to purchase because HIDs take a minute to warm up. My service engine light stayed on because DRL code was being given off because they were disabled. Buy so high power halogens instead. Also when installed this kit in conjunction with their low beam kit melted my stock wiring harness costed almost $200 to repair.

The previous review I wrote on the low beam review explained I was having problems and left less than steller feedback. Kensun contacted me asking me to change feedback due to reputation and they would send me a dome LED light and would reimburse for the install which they did but told Amazon I returned the product. In otherwords I was bribed. I never truly liked the light output by the bulbs very yellowish white. A short time later I found the left ballast to be faulty and bulbs were of low quality. Prior to the low beam ballast issue I purchased a highbeam kit. I went to return both kits and Kensun would not fulfill their agreement to refund my purchase on this kit. They said they would be willing to refund some shipping cost then decided to not honor their word. Instead they tried to con tell me they could not refund me and asked If I wanted a gas or Amazon gift card instead.....I contacted Amazon customer service immediately and was reimbursed all costs and expenses for the kit and shipping promised by Kensun. Thanks to Amazon I was taken care of and all was addressed! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

If you have any problems Amazon has great customer service that is why as a consumer I still shop with Amazon! :)
